Abdulsalam Suleiman Izuagbe, a senior consultant and public affairs analyst, has advised President Bola Tinubu to motivate the Nigerian Army to eliminate Bello Turji, a notorious bandit leader, by offering double promotions to soldiers who capture or kill him and his followers.
Izuagbe cautioned against negotiating with Turji, citing his history of brutalities, including imposing levies on farmers and extorting residents. He also criticized reports of a potential negotiated settlement, arguing that dealing with someone accused of extreme violence should not be entertained.
Instead, Izuagbe advocated for a more aggressive approach, emphasizing the need for enhanced intelligence and operational strategies to locate Turji, who is believed to have moved from Zamfara and Sokoto States.
