Man Arrested for Digging Up Stepfather's Grave and Cutting Off Head




A 55-year-old hunter, Yusuf Garba, has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly digging up his stepfather's grave and cutting off his head. Garba claimed he was pressured by his stepfather's son, who wanted the head for ritual purposes. The suspect allegedly committed the act after being threatened by his stepfather's son, who he believed was a witch. The police have launched a discreet investigation and plan to prosecute the suspect.

Nasarawa Church Attack: Bandits Kill 3 Worshippers, Demand N100m Ransom in Deadly Raid

A devastating bandit attack on a church camp in Nyanya, Nasarawa, has left three worshippers dead and several others abducted. The Divine Majesty Worship Ministry, a church in the town, was attacked by bandits last Monday, according to Ramhan Nansel, Nasarawa police spokesperson. The bandits broke into the church's hostel, where financially constrained worshippers were housed, during a nighttime prayer vigil. They killed three people and abducted several others, demanding a ransom of N100 million. However, in a swift response, the police were able to rescue the abducted persons within 48 hours and reunite them with their families. The attack highlights the growing concern of insecurity in Nigeria, particularly in rural areas where banditry and kidnapping have become rampant.

Madhya Pradesh Infant Suffers Severe Burns in Superstitious Ritual

In Shivpuri district, Madhya Pradesh, a six-month-old infant named Mayank suffered severe facial burns after his parents subjected him to a ritual by a local tantrik, aiming to treat an ailment. The burns have critically affected his cheeks, lips, and both eyes, with doctors fearing potential loss of vision.  The incident occurred in Hanuman Colony, where the child's father, Aadesh Verma, brought Mayank to the district hospital's eye department. Upon examination, eye specialist Dr. Girish Chaturvedi discovered multiple burn injuries. Initially, the mother admitted they had consulted a tantrik in Ramnagar, Kolaras, where the injuries were inflicted during the ritual.
